Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) is an assessment and treatment modality that helps identify the root cause of a dysfunctional movement pattern. Most non-traumatic injuries stem from repetitive dysfunctional movement patterns that we perform on a daily basis for several months or years. These patterns cause micro-trauma to the bodies tissues i.e. (muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia) which may lead to tissue injury and cause pain. NKT uses a system of muscle testing to identify those muscles that are over-active (facilitated) and those muscles that are under-active (inhibited). Once these muscles have been identified we can properly treat the cause of pain and re-introduce the body to a more efficient movement pattern.
